The Berkeley At Southpoint

My experience with The Berkeley at Southpoint was great. They were very professional and down to earth. Ryann was so nice during my tour, and was able to address all of my concerns. It was nice to find out that they do not have an abundance of fees on top of the base rent. Also, I'm sending a big thank you to Christian and Amanda for their time and assistance.

My initial review would have been higher based on several positive encounters during my time living here up until I moved out. Unfortunately, the move-out experience was disappointing. I was billed for “soiled” carpet, and additional countertop cleaning, and bathtub cleaning, all of which were cleaned prior to leaving the apartment and in original condition from when I moved in. Despite this, a portion of my security deposit was withheld. I attempted to discuss these charges and I never received a final response. Ultimately, I ended up paying the bill just to resolve the matter. I have provided images as a reference for the condition as to what I was charged for to this review. Overall the location is nice and the complex is gated. However, there were a couple of vehicle break-ins in the three years we lived there. There are two automatic gates leaving the complex but one has been broken for months with no signs of being repaired. The staff in the front office are nice and responsive. The maintenance staff could not be nicer or more helpful. There are a lot of bugs, especially millipedes and occasionally cockroaches. Management did try to address this by having pest control come by to spray every few months, but if you live in a ground floor apartment then you should expect an occasional cockroach especially when it rains and they get flushed out of the sewers. The bathroom is poorly ventilated and the white shower tiles easily get moldy despite running the fan.

Christian was so kind and informative on our tour! The 1-bedrooms were spacious. I look forward to making The Berkeley my home.

Looking for a furnished apt. Berkeley has 6 of them and happy I could get one. I have my own business so needed a place I could work in. Very quiet. Not issues with noisy neighbors above, below or to the side. The corporate apts are all two bdrms. This team is wonderful and responsive to your needs and go out of their way to make you feel at home. Great facilities, clean and you can even wash and vaccuum out your car here. While more expensive than others, if you have your own furniture to move in it’s a good deal. They have other 1 and two bdrm options aside from the corporate apts. - very clean. None of those are furnished. Also just be aware no elevators or bellhops. Three floors so if you can’t do stairs request first floor only. Highly recommend! Right across from Southpoint Mall. L
