Subject: Formal Complaint Regarding Apartment Condition and Maintenance Issues Dear Marquette I am writing to formally express my dissatisfaction with the current condition of my apartment unit and the handling of recent maintenance requests. Since moving in, I have submitted multiple work orders for various issues, including one of the wall by the tv. I put it in around May and all they did was close the issue and not solve the problem. I am concerned that the maintenance efforts to date have been inadequate. I've observed that the repairs appear to be superficial, such as painting over problems rather than addressing the underlying causes. I came to the Bennington for an apartment tour and tried to give it the benefit of the doubt at first. But, the reviews are TRUE. Upon my arrival at the leasing office, I was not greeted by any staff and no one shook my hand. When one of the leasing agents noticed I was standing there, she invited me to her desk. The whole time I was there, a tenant was screaming at another leasing agent in the office space next to us. Also, while discussing with the leasing agent, a different agent interrupted our conversation and asked about a tenant that wanted to break her lease early. They offer lease terms for 16 months, and for shorter lease terms, they expect tenants to pay upwards of what the cost of a cleaner apartment in Oakbrook terrace would be. I live there almost 7yrs ago for 19yrs. It was great when it was Yorkbrook. Anthony let Sarah in the office and the place went to hell. Ana on the 2nd floor steals the packages. Also 7yrs later they're still trying to get me to pay a water bill that's was paid when I left. Beware, they'll stick you up without a gun!!!!!

Ive had my packages stolen multiple times. Both in the mail room and out. Nothing is really being done to resolve this. There is dog poop everywhere, and i mean everywhere (like in the lobby.) The trash being taken out ( and being charged extra for it ) should be optional not mandatory. Washing machines are down half of the time. If you can live with that, then the units are decent price per dollar, but i really cant stress enough to be careful with your belongings here. The neighbors here are very quick to take things that aren't theirs.

My honest review about my living experience in these apartment was terrible. There are a lot of hidden fees when you sign the lease, and the monthly charge increase over time. If you decide to live here please be aware of some of the issues that this community has, the community has a deal with the tow truck company. They come out every day around 2am - 4am looking for car that they can tow. Every car they tow the community gets a commission out of it. The price that you are paying for is over price for mediocre apartment, plus the price change over time as each month’s passes with the hidden fees. The laundry room is always broken or doesn’t work as it should, the hallways have a weird smell to it. The list goes on, but I keep it short. Please read other people reviews and do your
