I’ve had a great experience living in this apartment building. The property is well maintained, the environment feels safe and welcoming, and it feels unique and special because of its history, which gives the building real character and a sense of identity. What truly makes the difference, though, is the office staff. Latoya and Apple are absolutely the best—professional, reliable, and genuinely kind. They are not only efficient and responsive, but also truly human in the way they treat residents, always listening with care and understanding. It’s rare to find people in property management who are both competent and compassionate, and Latoya and Apple consistently show both qualities. I’ve lived at The Babcock for the past two years, and my experience has been consistently excellent. The building is beautiful, well-kept, and peaceful, but what really makes this place feel like home is the staff. Apple and LaToya in the leasing office go above and beyond every time. They’re patient, professional, and genuinely care about the residents. Any time I’ve needed something, they’ve handled it quickly and with kindness. Their energy sets the tone for the whole community. I truly appreciate the support they’ve shown me during my time here. The maintenance team and overall management have also been great to interact with. The Babcock has been the best living experience I’ve had in Columbia, and I highly recommend it.

I have really enjoyed living at The Babcock so far and have had a good experience overall. It’s been a good place to live, and things have generally gone smoothly with hardly any issues. The only downside is that, since this is a historic/older building, the walls are pretty thin, so you can hear the people in the apartments above or next to you, so it’s just something to be aware of. Besides that, I’ve had a very good experience with the staff thus far, and things have been positive overall!

Was much more fun as an asylum. It was once a destination for ghost hunters and urban explorers. It has been beautifully restored. Hopefully, they have preserved the history and dignity of those who were kept there many times against their own will as well as those who died while under the care of the state.

The Babcock has been a great place to live! I just renewed my lease for 2026 as well. The staff is very friendly and they do a good job of making you feel welcomed and making living arrangements the best they can possibly be. The affordable cost is nice and I’m truly happy with choosing The Babcock and would recommend to new tenants! It is a great place for young adults to live as it seems to be the demographic of most of the tenants! The staff installed some garbage cans that take recyclables and that has helped out a lot. There are plenty of spaces to park with options to park on the street for free after 7 pm. The only thing I don’t understand is why the sprinkler system runs basically every night and water pools on the sidewalks which can make it tough to navigate outside if walking at
