The Arches

I really like it here. It's a close lyft ride to Columbia U. They have shuttles to subways. There's a lovely theatre room, roof top sun and deck and bbq, pool room, 2 gyms, library and conference rooms and wifi. The building manager is Leo, great guy. Then, there is Joeh and Frank and Marcos and others managing the building that are super friendly. People are nice! The surrounding is what you may think of for the Bronx and the elevators really need fixing - , hence the 1 star taken off - the elevators just breakdown too often. From what I understand, that's due to a contract the management company is stuck in that obligates them to use a particular contractor for elevator issues. The leasing agent Daniyar is great too. I had a very disappointing experience with this management. From the moment I mentioned that I have a housing voucher, the lady I spoke with immediately changed her attitude and treated me differently. I felt discriminated against. Even though the apartment was listed as available, I was never sent the application. It’s unacceptable to advertise an apartment and then refuse to provide fair and equal access just because of a voucher. I hope management reaches out to me directly to address this situation.

Feel very disappointed about the leasing staff I been trying to have an appointment to view apartments and every time I call they acting they can’t hear me I also call today and told the guy I was in a shelter and he just ask me how much it’s my voucher and when I mentioned that I was in the shelter hang out on me, the reason I reach out it’s because my case manager refer me to it but very disappointed you can just say we don’t have nothing available but don’t make me feel like that because I’m in a shelter I still going to pay rent even if I’ have a program

Once a Bronx Gem, Now Losing Its Shine :( I’ve lived in this building for several years, and it’s honestly disappointing to see how much it has declined. This property used to be one of the pioneers of luxury living in the Bronx — always spotless, well-maintained, and full of life. There was even a community representative who organized resident events and made everyone feel connected. Unfortunately, that sense of pride and care has completely disappeared. The building now feels neglected, with visible maintenance issues and a lack of effort to keep it up. Even the iconic blue lights that once made the building stand out are either broken or turned off, which feels symbolic of how far things have slipped. If they had an option for 0 it would be better. What a horrible management company. Someone at front desk sent me a threatening email that was a response to a simple inquiry about a package. They did absolutely nothing.i forwarded the email, and Esty agreed it was not acceptable. I asked them to get an IT company to do a forensic investigation they would not do it. They said they would escalate but they did nothing. I even spoke to the owners of the building and they did nothing. They are rude, do not reply in a timely manner. Also it’s been 19 days and I have not received my security deposit. I am making a claim with the attorney generals office. Do not rent or live in this building. I would love if the arches would reply to this review, but they don’t care. Good riddance, and I hope th
