The Academy on Charles

Over the past year, my experience with this property’s management has deteriorated significantly, largely due to persistent communication issues and questionable billing practices. During my initial lease term, I had no major concerns. However, upon renewal, I encountered numerous unexpected and poorly explained charges, including duplicate and even triple billing. These fees were frequently applied without any prior notice or sufficient justification. As a tenant, I expect, at minimum, written communication before additional charges are debited from my account, but that standard was repeatedly not upheld. Check to make sure, before signing your lease, that the windows of your apartment can open or are permanently closed. 2. Ask for the history of infestation in your unit. 3. As mentioned in countless other reviews, the staff and maintenance appear friendly but are actually rude and condescending. 4. Make it a priority to view your apartment before signing a lease, no matter what, because CRUCIAL things may be omitted on that you have been promised and paid good money for.

Janea was very helpful in showing us all the amenities and walking around the property. I really felt at ease with her knowledge.

I was thoroughly impressed with the layout, the presentation and the welcoming feeling that was given. Khalia was absolutely awesome in the way she professionally presented. Needless to say, she had me at hello. However, it is my daughter's decision and I definitely will tell her what I thought. I understand now why the Academy is such a highly desirable living space.

There were ants in the room and the staff had a very poor attitude and always unhelpful. My Luxer One was not activated more than 6 months due to staff delays! Room soundproofing was very poor. This place has managed to trick Johns Hopkins freshmen to moving in using the the successful marketing strategy. As I know no Johns Hopkins student chosen to extend their lease after the onld one ending. With same price you can easily find much better apartments than this place. Worst academy I've ever lived in.
