Tan Oak Apartments

We’ve been in our unit for almost two weeks now and it’s been great so far. Our unit is newly renovated and very comfortable. I was surprised with how quiet it is and rarely hearing our neighbors. The property manager has been great and super sweet every time I bump into her. I was super impressed when I noticed this morning that our washer was down, but before I could even report it - it was fixed! We’re happy to call this home for the next year+

It been a few months since my last review so I thought I’d update. New management has addressed the mountain of trash that would build up by the dumpster which gains them an extra star. The rent has increased for the second time in 6 months and still no improvements to the brown water that they claim is safe to drink. I moved here hoping to save money until I can buy a house but it has become increasingly difficult to look past all the flaws especially with them raising the price every few months. Still would not recommend moving here unless like me, you have no choice.

Beware applying to this place. You will be told in order to see the apartment you can only see it if you apply and pay the fee. My husband and I both applied and were told we had to sign a lease within 48 hours. I asked to see the apartment and apparently it isn’t available to be seen for another few weeks and we are being denied our fee back. You should not have an apartment listed if it is not available for viewing or you should make it clear that you can’t tour it. Completely scam, waste of time and money. If you want to waste your money and sign a risky lease for a place you haven’t even seen and be out $238, apply here!

I lived there for 8 years. I could list many bad things. To be fair, I’m basing my rating on the new management staff that took over the beginning of the year. They are making improvements. It’s a work in progress. I’ve never spoken to Brandi, the property manager, in person but she has always been professional and kind via email communication. The office is being utilized now. It’s nice to know you can contact someone. Prior to this I had no idea who the property manager was. I met the maintenance man during my pre move out inspection and he was really nice. He seems to be a hard working person that cares. I can’t say much about my apartment because it’s being remodeled since I’ve moved. It is a nice size for a 1 bedroom. They do charge for utilities but if you look around you’ll find it

My husband and I have lived here for a little over a year now and within the last few months since it became under new management we have been extremely impressed and excited for all of the new changes. Brandi is wonderful to work with and her and her team have been so helpful with assisting us with any and all questions or concerns we have of have had. The prior management company was impossible to get ahold of, reckless with sensitive documents, refused to have any other way to pay rent other than using the mail(which was notoriously late to the point they would blame you even if you sent it on time) and refused to do anything about all of the aesthetic issues but now with new management they have done a complete 180! Super excited to see all of new changes they have coming :)
