Sunset Square Apartments

If you are looking for a place in West Covina I recommend Sunset Square. I was a resident from October 2022 until just recently. This was my first renting and it was definitely a good experience. The first management company wasn’t the greatest but after Abra Management took over things started changing. Some of the rules changed and were finally enforced. The manager and assistant manager are great! They are attentive to each residents needs. The cleanliness and maintenance has improved as residents take pride in their living environment. If you are looking for a place to rent this is worth taking a look at.

Don't let this flood of new 5 and 4 star reviews fool you! If I could give this apartment a zero I would. This place has had roaches and mold for years and they've let residents live in it with no remorse. This new "management" is using them only managing the buildings for 18 months as an excuse as to why they've put people at risk and has barely done anything about it. Even if they have been "working on improving it" as they're saying in the replies to all the negative reviews they have on here, it had to take an influx of people moving out, breaking leases, and sending more bad reviews than good to do something about it. This is the first apartment i’ve ever rented and so far it has been a great experience for me and my family. Andrew, the maintenance man, has great communication skills and takes care of our concerns with a smile and responds quickly. Gracie, who works in the office, is very friendly and always ready to listen to any concerns regarding our unit. It seems like management is making upgrades to the complex and in the 12 months that we’ve been here- the complex has made a significant improvement in common areas. Laundromat upgrades, pool cleaning, and complex janitorial services have all made an improvement. Such great staff all around!

Been living here for the past six years and the property has gone through extensive changes. The one thing that has not changed is the prompt maintenance. From the previous maintenance person to now Andrew. He is awesome and completes your work orders in a timely manner. Has great customer service skills and communicates with you effective and efficiently. Cristina and Grecia are awesome in the management office, they work with you to have a great experience living at Sunset Square Apartments.

A residence that has potential but is unfortunately poorly managed. The change of manager has brought improvements with a better water supply. However, the staff, especially the reception staff, are incompetent and unpleasant. It's not surprising that there is always a new employee. The common area for the laundry is always dirty and the machines never work properly. Many residents leave. The quality of the neighborhood has deteriorated (smokers, rude people who don't know how to live in a community). It's a shame because we had an apartment with two bedrooms and two bathrooms that suited us. The prices have increased while the service has deteriorated.
