Lived there 2 years. Liked our apartment, but moved because we wanted a 2 car garage. So when we left we left our apartment as clean and good shape as when we moved in! New resident could have moved in the next day! When we got our deposit refund...we were charged $325 for 5 hours of cleaning. THERE IS NO WAY, IF THEY FOUND ANYTHING TO CLEAN IT WOULD HAVE TAKEN MORE THAN AND HOUR, AT THE MOST TO CLEAN!!! We think they do this to everyone, when they move out. HORIZON POLICY...I RECOMMEND IF YOUR LOOKING FOR APARTMENT...DO NOT RENT FROM HORIZON!!!

So disappointed. Id advise to rent elsewhere... They take your money from security deposit and lie. I have never been charged a cleaning fee at any apartment i have ever rented from. I spent 8:30am -1:30pm on 8/30/25 cleaning and our move out was 8/31/25. Following their specific move out cleaning checklist and beyond, I even had a family friend who is a professional cleaner help me because i was not about to receive a cleaning charge. YET, they still deducted $390 from my security deposit for "6 hours of cleaning" NOTE: In Wisconsin, landlords generally cannot deduct routine cleaning costs from a security deposit, as this falls under normal wear and tear. We have an upper unit. We were led to believe it would quiet and minimal noises from shared walls. Wow! What a lie! If you chose a D2 unit be prepared to hear slamming kitchen cabinets, conversations through the walls from upper and lower tenants, and if they have kids, non-stop running. We’ve been here for almost a year and regret it every single day. We brought the issues to management and they did just about nothing. There is zero insulation between walls. You’d think with a brand new build this wouldn’t be an issue. Go to Rock Creek if you need to rent. Megan and the rest of management will string you along and not let you break the lease. Just renewed my lease and we are super happy with our apartment and management/maintenance thus far. Maintenance requests have been handled timely and every employee we've interacted with has been pleasant. We love how quiet our community is and how respectful our neighbors have been. Highly recommend!

They say peace and quiet, no shared spaces. But that couldn’t be further than the truth. Sure, there’s no “share spaces”. But I might as well be roommates with my neighbors. For what the price is, I would expect better than section 8 vibes. Dog poop everywhere outside, cars blaring music in the parking lot at 6:30 am, neighbors screaming, cussing, and fighting every single day. So clear and loud that I know exactly what they’re saying verbatim. Doors and cupboards slamming. One would expect a brand new build to be better insulated. As I’m writing this at nearly 9 am I’ve been hearing the couple next door at each others throats since 6 am. Could literally hear her screaming from outside while taking my dog out. Save yourself….find somewhere else to live.
