Spire Abstract completely failed to do their job at closing and then tried to push the fallout onto me. They relied on a wrong $0 payoff from NJHMFA, let the lien go unpaid, and then months later tried to bully me into paying $10,000 for their own error — even going so far as to have their lawyer threaten me with a fraud lawsuit. The lien in question was fully disclosed and part of my mortgage record from the start. Their failure to clear it is entirely on them. Instead of taking responsibility like a professional title company should, they chose intimidation tactics against a former client. If you value competent, honest, and accountable service — stay far away from Spire Abstract. Their negligence caused me enormous stress, legal costs, and months of unnecessary headache.
