Customer Reviews
Avoid this place at all costs. The management team is terrible. I lived here for a year, the apartment is super inconvenient, the distance from my apartment to the garage takes a 5 minute walk, where all other apartments in Rochester offer you convenient parking that takes you down to the garage in an elevator. When moving out, they did not return security deposit and said that my apartment was dirty when I left, which I spent 5 hours cleaning up. Sarai from the leasing office is very slow in replying emails about anything, takes her half a month to reply to my request. Anyways, not fond of all my experiences here.
So happy with our decision to move to Spectra. The building has great amenities including gym, library, rooftop area and a common space with pool table, bar and couches. Elevators are quick and never requires a long wait. Parking garage is attached to the building and feels safe at night. Neighbours are friendly and staff is respectful and professional.
Dealing with management here has been a nightmare. They tried to charge me OVER $6,000 for shower doors without my approval on the vendor selection, claiming that these modern apartments—with built-in glass shower windows—are somehow ‘meant for shower curtains.’ That excuse makes no sense. I wasn’t given a say in the vendor or pricing, and when I questioned it, they ignored me 3 times after I asked "who will be paying for this expense?" Looking at other reviews, I’m clearly not the only tenant dealing with shady charges and poor communication. If you’re considering moving here, think twice and read the fine print. In New York State, landlords are legally required to maintain residential properties in a habitable condition, which includes ensuring that essential fixtures are in good working
I lived here for 2 years and the experience was very underwhelming. I don’t understand why anyone would pay $3000 for a 1BD here. Apartments at the METROPOLITAN building go for $3K, and this is NO Metropolitan building! Apartments don’t even come close! Either has to be new to Rochester and don’t understand they’re being played, or just don’t care because of the location. Even with it being located downtown, the price is still not worth it. Not for a 50% success rate with deliveries because there’s always people around watching for drop offs. Very ghetto area. Not enough shops or things to do. So basically $3000 a month for bragging rights and maybe a decent view. To each their own but I found a much better place in a better area for less. Doubt they’ll get their stuff together
Like most “luxury” apartment buildings, they used low income households at first to create a buzz for high earning applicants. We were the bait to get them in the door. After they removed most of the residents from the 9th floor through illegal practices, they were able to then raise the rent by a ballpark of 95%. I enjoyed my view, but the apartment overall isn’t worth over $1200 with everything included. It’s a shame to see how much they’ve raised their prices and made absolutely no changes to their amenities. The fitness room is free but the other rooms require reservations (that costs money). It’s a honey trap for individuals who just want a luxury apartment but don’t really care about any of the other factors like stolen mail, uncooperative office staff, homeless people and drug addic
