Southland Log Homes

We attended Southland’s grand opening last Saturday to view their new model and further look into purchasing a log home for retirement. Many other potential customers were there but staff were still professional and friendly. They followed up on Sunday to thank us for coming and we set an appointment to answer our many questions. We spoke again after reviewing their catalog and asked model specific and construction, tax, etc. questions. Talk with them if you’re looking for a log home!

I just signed a contract with Southland Log Homes, and one of the reasons why I chose to go with Southland versus the other log home companies was my interactions with Dean Goodwin. He was upfront, honest, and knowledgeable. Furthermore, the company thus far seems reliable and honest.

All great things to say about Southland Log Homes! I was amazed from the start, Dean was full of knowledge and really educated us on the process from floor plans, to build, to land, to completion of it all. This is a wonderful log manufacture and even though they are located in Fredericksburg, they can delivery your log home to anywhere! So for those looking for a Lake Anna, VA log home or wherever, then they can make it happen for you! Ask for Dean, he's great to work with and like I said really helped us see the value and amazing quality this company offers. I highly recommend this company for your next log home! They are the absolute BEST of the best! The quality, craftsman ship, customer service and care is all above and beyond, you wont go wrong with this incredible team!

Today I talk to Sheri dishman , what a wealth of knowledge. She provide me with the floor plan and explain in full detail about the product. The model center was closed because of reason. Sheri responded in such short time after voice mail. I scheduled a meeting to go over with the plans of my future log home. What a pleasure meeting someone with so much compassion in what they love.

Beware. The salespeople are very good at what they do, but their information is misleading. We bought a kit in February of 2021. We knew that it would be difficult to get our kit, and have it built during Covid, but we were assured that we would be given a list of reputable builders in our area. We put our deposit of $20K down, and could not even get any of the builders on the list to contact us. Southland didn’t care and we were told our home had to be delivered May 21 to our VT property . We communicated that we still had 3 feet of snow on the ground, no builder, as we were promised, and the world was going through all the Covid issues of lack of help, lack of supplies etc. When we asked for an extension, we were told no, you signed the contract and they kept the money.
