Southgate Apartments

Some of these reviews must be very old. We have a maintenance person and anything I need fixed is looked at and resolved same day. New toilet, garbage disposal, drain issues...all fixed very promptly! My neighbors are very nice. Garbage is in dumpsters collected twice a week. They are constantly making improvements. I find the rent a bit high so 4 stars.

Pros: Well-manicured lawns, ample parking, great maintenance person, walking to CVS/downtown Cons: Out-dated appliances will not be updated after several years, stale smells in the hallways, apartments can be dark inside. Rent goes up every year. FYI several car tires were stolen in the parking lots of these apartments and no cameras were installed afterwards.

This place is garbage. Management themselves (both Linda’s) are trash themselves!! All they care about is their money! They haven’t changed the carpets or nasty windows in years! The carpets smell disgusting and windows are with mold!!! Absolutely disgusting! I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone!! I left this place for a reason! Made the best decision of my life! I’d honestly rather live on the streets than here if I were to choose! Both LINDA’S are soooo rude when you speak with them! They don’t know how to speak to their renters let alone manage a property!!

If a friend were to ask for a recommendation to move into Southgate, I would emphatically tell them no. The owners / repair guy schedule loud construction projects early on weekends (on a Saturday I was woken up before 8 by one such project). We have also had the lawn guys here as late as 9:00 pm. They have scheduled projects for holidays as well. In my opinion, this type of work should be done during the work day, not when people are trying to relax after work or on holiday. Furthermore, the lady who oversees things has let herself into my locked apartment without knocking, calling, emailing, whatever. When I asked her why she thought that was ok she responded “sorry I didn’t think you were home”. Even when we moved in it was all smoke and mirrors. They clearly washed the carpets for
