We are BEYOND profoundly devastated by what we recently discovered while having our roof and vinyl siding replaced because things were beginning to go wrong. So many shortcuts were taken by the original construction crew Southern Homebuilders used when building our home in Quail Woods subdivision off Murraville Road nearly 3 decades ago, it’s unbelievable. Looked good on the outside, but behind the pretty facade, it is a mess! Unprotected wood that’s rotted, soffits that were not properly supported - well, I could go on and on. It’s expensive enough to have these replacements done, but we’ve had to pay WAY more than expected to correct what should have been standard construction normals. Educate yourself - then watch them like hawks if you agree to let them build your homes!

We bought our house a year ago and everything we pointed out that was wrong we were told could be fixed at our one year. Well our one year has come and it took a little time to get the floor people here, concrete and siding folks but what a disappointment. The concrete was never done right to begin with and all they could do was skim the sides now and after only a day the skim is chipping away so I don’t expect that to last for any amount of time. The siding guy came who wasn’t the original company said there was never the appropriate amount of nails put in the siding to keep it from bowing and he said he would have liked to replace pieces but was told to just fix the bows in siding. We are so disappointed with our experience with Southern Homebuilders. We purchased a home in Leland on 6/20/19. When touring the Hearthstone community, we were under the impression that we were purchasing a Trusst home. However, after receiving the spec sheet in our contract, we noticed that the builder was listed as Southern Homebuilders. We felt the sales pitch was a bit dishonest, but decided to go forward with the home because we were assured that the same quality of construction was applied to these homes because it is also Trusst's reputation as it is their floor plan. We were told that they had to partner with Southern Homebuilders to help finish homes in the Hearthstone community. Eh, I would like to see them use better contractors. Their HVAC guys (Regional Services Inc) sucked. First they had to move my outdoor unit back onto my side of the property line which caused a leak. Several of their techs came to refill the unit multiple times and stated that there is a leak. The manager or owner or whoever he is (mike) just wanted to keep giving me the run around. Now I have to pay someone to do the job correctly... As much time as they spent here at my home they could have just made the one trip, fixed it properly and been done.

I had a home built by SHB a year ago. Any issue I have had after moving in was taken care of immediately. John Vaivao is who handled everything and he is for sure an asset to this company!! Thank you John for all you have done :)
