SkyLoft Apartments

This place was better than we could’ve hoped for when we moved down here a couple years ago. It’s close to downtown, always had responsive maintenance, and has some really nice views. I don’t know if this is still in place but they allowed month-to-month rental after the initial lease term which was huge for us. Everyone at the office was super nice too, and clearly our dog REALLY loved it here too!!

Nice, quiet complex with large, open apartments. Lots of natural light. The outdoor porch is a nice addition as well. Management is always on-site, and landscaping, etc., is always kept up with. Can't speak highly enough of Skyloft apartments.

I can’t speak on living here but trying to sign a lease didn’t work out. Our tour was great & someone always picked up the phone to answer our questions, but a persistent bug on the application website made it impossible to apply & our other option was mailing a check (which they suggested we spend ~$30 on for same day shipping). Despite someone always picking up or emailing back to answer our questions, we were told twice when to hear back as we waited for updates… and we never heard back. We always had to be the ones to follow up and initiate contact again. We ended up leasing elsewhere. I think the website bug is a GreyStar rather than a SkyLoft issue, but the ordeal made us feel like we were better off leasing elsewhere, regardless.

A friend and I rented a 2 bed / 2 bath unit for roughly 18 months. The apartment was very spacious, the appliances were new, and the materials and overall condition was very good. The views from our deck (top floor) were fantastic, and we frequently watched the sunset over the blue ridge mountains. We only had a few minor maintenance issues, but they were extremely quick to respond and fix them, mostly during the same day. The clubhouse and pool is only a short drive away, and there were frequent gatherings with live music, food, and beer provided! The only negative is that there is no elevator, so moving in/out of the top floor can be cumbersome. Overall, the experience was great, and I would recommend living at Skylofts to anyone who wants a great unit in the heart of Asheville.

I attempted to tour the apartments at SkyLoft. Ciara from the front office let me know that she would meet me at Building 100 by 3:45. By 4:25, almost 45 minutes late, I called the office back. She answered and told me that she'd already come down to the building and left when she didn't see me. On the phone prior, she didn't ask what my car looked like, didn't make a plan for how to find me once she was there, etc. She only asked for my phone number, which I thought she'd use to contact me once she arrived. It's winter & very cold out--did she expect for me to wait outside of my car? It was very unprofessional to not bother to make a plan. She was also barely apologetic once I reached her at the office and didn't offer to make it right in any way. I've lived and rented in Asheville 9 year
