Shockoe Center - The Collection at American Tobacco Center

My old review was deleted because my email changed. They lost my key and didn’t tell me. For 3 months pest control never entered my apartment because they lost my key. AND THEY DIDN’T INFORM ME. When I finally was able to get pest control there they left a whole bottle of chemicals for me! (They’re supposed to mix and leave it in the truck). I only found out about the key / no pest control because my A/C broke. Only after multiple calls did they tell me my key was missing. It took them over a month to respond. I gave them a copy of the key. I believe they lost my key again because even after that no response to maintenance requests. I couldn’t use my kitchen sink for the last 2 months I lived there, it was broken and I was sick of calling. They changed my lock a few weeks before I moved

As other reviews have noted, this building has an issue with pests, and the management company is not proactive about it. The elevator is also frequently broken and poorly maintained. I have received no response to multiple voicemails or emails to the office staff. The prior management company at least had a call center, this current company just has a voicemail box that is apparently never checked. They are poorly organized, as they called me days after my move out (which included a walk-through with maintenance and handing my keys directly to the office staff) asking when I would be turning in my keys. NOVEMBER UPDATE: Despite leaving multiple voicemails, emails, and contact forms for the property, I have still not been contacted about the return of my deposit.

My apartment has had a leak for the past 24 hours and the property manager decided to turn off their emergency maintenance. This is my third time having water flood my apartment during my 3 years living in this building. Please do not live here. The property management has gotten worse and worse since I moved in with no sign of improvement in sight.

Do not move here! This building is dirty and the management is terrible. I moved into an apartment that was infested with roaches and have been fumigated 6 times in two months. The apartment was not cleaned well before move in and several repairs were never made even after the leasing company was notified. I am moving out as soon as I possibly could, but couldn’t find a place immediately and have been made to pay full rent for an apartment that is infested with roaches. I never unpacked because I have been looking to leave since arriving.

They want you to apply for a place without seeing the apartment, just ridiculous. The lady on the front desk not very friendly either.
