Salem Bay by Pulte Homes

I recently purchased a home in Salem Bay development in Beaufort, SC. I really had no plan to purchase a home, but when I saw this neighborhood, I sat up and took notice. I can't believe I actually did it, but I am glad I did. The rep in the office, Ms. Conrad, showed me a lot that was available and both myself and my wife loved it. It is close to the Clubhouse, pool, pickleball courts, and the water, i.e. the ocean. Beautiful view of Battery Creek from the brand new dock. Dock is awesome. I have met several really nice folks who live there, and we have become friends, interesting because I don't even live there yet. Lol. I have met more people in Salem Bay in a week, than 30 years in my current home. No joke. I have enjoyed this experience immensely, working with the Pulte reps,

We purchased here for the location and community. The neighborhood itself is great the people are welcoming, and the proximity to Beaufort, Lady’s Island, Port Royal, and even Savannah and Charleston is hard to beat. Unfortunately, our experience with the builder (Pulte) and the management company (AAM) has been frustrating. With Pulte, we felt misled during the buying process. We were told we could make finish changes in our quick move-in home, but after signing, we were told almost nothing could be changed. We were also told our lot would not have a sidewalk, yet one was added two years later without notice. Recently, Pulte decided to put trees in everyone's yard without asking, claiming it was due to a county requirement. Home owners contacted the county, and it is not a requirement. Thus far, any attempt at clarification and questions from Pulte have gone unanswered despite the many concerns about future problems imposed by the placement of said trees. My previous review about my home remains unchanged. It's unfortunate they have decided to go this route. Update 01/06/2025: The trees are still here and unlikely to go anywhere. However, this update is not about the trees. Within the last 6 months or so, there has been a drastic uptick in nefarious activities within the community by people who don't live here. No complaints at all! Pulte was amazing during the build process as we were out of state at the time and Mike and then Mick kept us updated the entire way, we could not have asked for a better experience. Even after closing the Pulte team has been very responsive and extremely helpful! We love Salem Bay, such a great community and love the amenities!

We recently moved into our new home and couldn’t be happier, especially as we were able to secure one of the waterfront lots with a dock permit included. Everyone we encountered and/or worked with throughout the entire sales, building and closing process, including Rachel Conrad (sales), Allen Ford (construction manager), Ed Sacco (Pulte Mortgage loan officer), Jamie Leslie (Pulte Mortgage loan processor) and Ashley Brown (closing attorney/title agent from Butler & College, LLC) was very professional, accessible and always communicative. Overall, we are very happy with our new home, look forward to enjoying it for many years and highly recommend Pulte for anyone in the market for a new home.
