River Hills Homes

I am an architect in the greater Austin area. Working with River Hills is a joy. They are very considerate of their clients. The clients of the last home that River Hills built that I got to design (6,100 a.c. s.f.) told me this: what they really appreciated was that Greg and Eli would schedule the trades in back to back meetings with them, in order to save driving time from Austin to Driftwood, i.e. the plumber would meet them at 9, the sheetrock guy at 10, the electrical guy at 11...something along those line. River Hills is family owned and they retain quality subs. River Hills is working on the third luxury home that I designed. This house has an existing house on the waterfront of Lake Travis, but we now have to build the new home about twelve feet up in the air at the newly required

If you want crooked corners, misaligned windows, and constant explanations for why that should be considered acceptable with a custom build, these are the builders for you.

This is the second time I have used River Hills to build my home, and though I was only able to give them 4 stars the first time, 9 years later they earned 5. From communication, organization and professionalism I was pleased with all. When the unavoidable issues arose, they faced them head on, and always were able to find a way to make things work. The home was finished during covid, and I am nearing my 1 year walk through. I loved that they let me find my own lighting and stood behind the contractors they used. I have heard nightmares about building custom homes, but have not experienced it. If I build a 3rd home, I will be calling River Hills again. Thank you Lee, Eli, Greg, Teresa and more! We completed our home in 2015 with River Hills Custom Homes and are THRILLED with the outcome! The home is well-constructed and just beautiful. Lee and his team took the time to address all of our needs and concerns, and were very pleasant to work with. While we did encounter a couple of bumps in the road (...every new home construction is bound to have a hiccup!), River Hills was quick to help us mend the problems, and went the extra mile to make sure things were corrected quickly. Jayne was so friendly and easy to work with, too. Overall, it was a wonderful experience! Thank you River Hills...we are looking forward to all the memories to be made in our new home!

We searched for a builder for a long time. We felt like Eli and Lee understood what we were looking for. They were very knowledgeable and patient. We understand a lot about quality construction and felt like their homes were well built! -Carrie and Nathan
