Rittenhouse Claridge

Very difficult to deal with, spoke to multiple customer service reps and each gave a different price for rental. For a 475 sq ft studio they wanted $3950/month. You have to fill out application online, pay extra just to apply and put $500 deposit. You have to connect them with your bank to pay and there are no other payment methods. We have PNC bank which they do not recognize. Terrible frustrating experience. Do NOT recommend.

Although I never moved or lived in these apartments. I want to detail the injustices I encountered when applying for this apartment to make others aware of the shady practices. I applied for an apartment here, paid 500 deposit. After getting approved for the apartment I am told I would have to pay an additional 1904 in deposit and 375 amenity fee as part of my move in costs. This deposit was determined despite me having near perfect credit, I’m talking credit scores in the mid 700’s all across the board. The move in costs I was expected to pay for an unfurnished studio for 2 month lease was 2700 something with a 10-17 move in. This is ridiculous and they are crooks for this. I’m a hard working travel nurse professional and they took advantage of that.

December 2024: As a Black disabled veteran, my experience at the Rittenhouse Claridge has been marked by disrespect, unprofessionalism, and retaliation. Despite raising legitimate concerns about maintenance and staff behavior, I’ve faced dismissive attitudes, racial insults, attempts to intimidate me, and staff behavior requiring me to file a police report. This treatment is unacceptable and unworthy of a “luxury” residence. Updates and leaking ceiling inspection pending. April 2023: I wish the staff treated the black residents with the same respect/cordiality as the white residents (Anita, of note, has a pattern of standing there staring at me as I go through the lobby without offering any greeting or wave of acknowledgment. I’m a 2Y at Wharton, and sad to leave the building in a month. I wanted to leave this review for anyone who’s too far from Philadelphia and worried about finding the right apartment. I genuinely couldn’t have asked for a better place to live than the Claridge, and I wouldn’t choose to move to any other building. Maintenance is always timely, the building staff are incredibly friendly (it’s also pet-friendly), and being right on the corner of Rittenhouse Square makes it feel extremely safe at all hours. The location is unbeatable, only 30 seconds to the bus stop that takes you straight to campus. I recently toured Rittenhouse Claridge with Michelle E. I enjoyed the experience. The tour began with a discussion of what I was looking for in an apartment and then progressed to seeing two apartments based on my requests. Both apartments I saw were incredibly spacious and renovated--it's clear that the property has been maintained well over the years. The amenities at Rittenhouse Claridge are also top-notch. I was particularly impressed with the co-working spaces and the gym in the second-floor lounge and having laundry machines on every floor in addition to a bigger laundry room elsewhere in the building. Michelle E. is a consummate professional -- thorough, knowledgeable, and very kind. Highly recommend you take a tour at Rittenhouse Claridge!
