Tyrell Judge is lazy and retaliatory and will be the downfall of this company. My experience with this company, particularly with Tyrell Judge, has been beyond disappointing. I began my leasing process in May 2025 for a September 2025 move-in so that everything would be prepared and finalized well in advance. Unfortunately, from the very beginning, there was a consistent lack of communication, particularly proactive communication. Reaching Mr. Judge was often impossible, and when he did respond, the information provided was either incomplete or misleading. In June, when my application was approved, I specifically asked Mr. Judge for the total move-in cost. He told me I would only need to pay my first month’s rent. This has been the WORST company I’ve dealt with. The receptionist, Renee is unprofessional and dismissive even though her role is to connect you to the right person regarding your concern. She hung up on me twice. Put me on hold 3 times while I was still speaking to get off the phone with me. I never cussed or raised my voice at her, very shocking to have experienced. I’m surprised she’s been working for the company this long considering her lack of customer service and multitasking. I was very respectful to her because I know she has very LITTLE control in her entry level position. I was simply trying to get in touch with an accountant and Kesha Webster, who still hasn’t returned my call. I have lived in a Ripley Heatwole property in Norfolk, VA for 3 years. I have been very happy. Every property has it's problems because inherently not everyone abides by the rules. But the services I have received here are impeccable. They have weekly pest control when needed. Thankfully, I have not required that service for the 3 years I have lived here. The staff are very hard working & reliable. I know I can trust them, implicitly. Yes, Norfolk is a high crime city but gladly the crime reports I receive are not usually for this property. This property has Gaurdus Security. A company we can call for anything from alarm resets to noise control & beyond. Things short of non-emergency 911 calls.
I moved into an apartment managed by this company The Cedar apartments in October 2016, by the end of November 2016 I realized this was a terrible mistake. They literally do the bare minimum. My apartment had a persistant issue with water bugs (they are the size of your thumb). I complained multiple times about the bugs and I was told to wait until they scheduled the pest control guy to spray. I literally saw 1-6 water bugs a day. I killed and/or removed 63 of them in the month of November alone. Again, I asked multiple times for them to address the bugs and the only thing they would do is spray 2x a month. I must say that I was in love with Westwinds Apartments until I received the WORST customer service I’ve ever experienced in my life today from the Property Manager Sara. I reached out to the OFFICE to speak with her about a concern I had with the lack of communication here and she decided to call me from her own PERSONAL line and on her “OWN PERSONAL TIME” (which she mentioned before trying to end the call), a day later to pretty much disregard anything I had to say. She was VERY aggressive and CONSTANTLY cutting me off to the point that she didn’t even get to the real reason of me asking her to reach out to me.
