Rent JMU

I've been very pleased with my experience with Rent JMU. Brock and Gary are very friendly and always willing to try to understand our needs and help to work with us. We love that this is a family owned business and so it means we get treated a little more like family. Brock has always been willing to help us work out roommates coming on and off the lease and Gary has stopped by to fix things whenever we call. They always greet us with a friendly smile! I would recommend renting from them for anyone looking for simple and affordable housing in Harrisonburg.

Very pleased with my experience with Gary, especially after a bad experience with Matchbox the year before. Gary is friendly and quick to solve problems, and because he is a family-owned business he is more flexible with prices and able to make good deals. Gary helped me and my roommates find an incredible house to fit our needs and was willing to negotiate the price to fit our budget. Would definitely recommend Rent JMU over all other Hburg property management options!

I lived as one of Gary's tenants for 2 years and he is a such genuine landlord. Whenever we had a problem, he quickly came to fix the situation promptly. One time we complained that our dishwasher was not working and he showed up with a brand new one 24 hours later. He took out our trash when we would forget the cans, offered us furniture when we moved in, fixed our garbage disposal the 100x we dropped a spoon into it and so much more. Would highly recommend.

Getting removed from our house next year for no reason because a group of other people want to sign. Poor communication with landlord Brock (never responds to emails, calls, or texts). Low quality house (pipe bursts, bugs everywhere, terrible insulation, etc.). Would definitely recommend against renting a house here. UPDATE: me and my two friends didn't get most of our deposits back because this company is a SCAM. Horrible housing conditions, absolutely zero communication, sketchy practices, and just a complete lack of care for the tenants. Please do not live here.

I was a tenant of Gary's for 2 years and I had an overall very good experience! Whenever we had a problem Gary was there with a solution the same day! He was always very fair and the little things he did to help us made the housing experience so much better! Would recommend!
