I am extremely disappointed with this property management company. Throughout my tenancy, issues were consistently met with little to no response, and follow-up was almost nonexistent when problems arose. Communication was poor, accountability was lacking, and resolving even basic building issues became unnecessarily difficult. After this experience, I would never rent from this company again and would strongly caution others to think twice before doing business with them.

We have been Rechler's loyal tenant for greater than 7 years, and have been complaining about this roof leak for almost the entire term - to no avail. We get promises of repair, etc. but, as may be seen, it's still leaking. Tried subtracting the cost of damages and mitigation from the rent but that didn't work out very well. It's not worth a lawsuit, but it does make for an unhappy tenant.

I came from renting a building in Mineola where my landlord was a dream. They responded immediately to any problem, EVEN when it was not really their responsibility, and always repaired and rectified any problem as soon as they could. I was so spoiled and expected all landlords to be the same. Moving into our property in Hauppauge was a total opposite experience. Repairs that are their responsibility are totally ignored. We have had a leak in our roof since we moved in years ago. It gets worse every day and they have not done anything to fix it. When we moved in there were two old ancient heating/ac wall units that were not working and we were told they would replace them immediately. Rechler Equity is not responsive, and takes years to fix things. we have had AC problems for 2 years now and Rechler has been in to evaluate at least 5 to 7 times, and they never fix it, they usually blame us. We are responsible for maintenance, but you cannot maintain a system. Also the roof has not stopped leaking for 7 years, and that is their responsibility and they wont fix it.

For a company that size you would expect a better customer service. We have been waiting for years to address HVAC and water leaks problems. They drag their feet and the only thing they seem to care about is getting paid on time. Their really need to up their game if they want to keep their tenants.
