Move to one of these properties! Our Mountain View apartment was such a great place to live, and somewhere that we will truly miss dearly! For one, the apartment manager Mike was amazing in every way…from maintenance to overall support and everything else in between. Secondly, the support staff at the main office is top notch (and even went out of their way to help us with a legal visa matter!). And lastly, and perhaps most importantly, is that the apartment was GREAT; I’ve lived in a ton of different apartments and have never been anywhere (ANY WHERE) that achieved this level of soundproofing. It was also sooooooo comfortable and spacious. Move to one of these now! Tell Mike hi!

Do NOT, I repeat do NOT pay their asking price for apartments at their 890 bush location. The building is always unkempt, they nickel and dime you for EVERYTHING and management is truly the worst, especially the lady who hides behind threatening emails - Joi. This neighborhood is filled with apartments that will not rip you off and actually care about their tenants. They have a posting for an open apt for $2,300 on the 2nd floor, when just last year it was closer to $1,800. The building hasn’t gotten any better, and if anything - they get away with cleaning it once every few months and put it on the tenants to maintain THEIR building. Please, do yourself a favor and don’t give this company a dime of your hard earned money.

I lived at 191 Frederick Street for one year and not a moment longer. The management of the building was abysmal. The rent for a 700 square foot one bedroom was about 3700. No dishwasher. Communal laundry that literally all but two weekends that I lived there had more broken machines than working ones (often all, or all but one broken). Water all over the floor. My smoke detector started beeping with a low battery; I submitted a maintenance request; they never came. I eventually had to rip it out of the ceiling because I couldn’t sleep. Maintenance never came to fix a single issue on my move-in checklist. Ralston is not good at this job.

I was at the 3649 Market St. building & yes, it has a beautiful view, but that's the only pro. You want to avoid this place. We had a dozen problems with Ralston even before moving out. The apt is old & practically all stuck together with Elmer's Glue. We were constantly requesting for things to be fixed. When we were moving out, Ralston offered cleaning services for about $500 to vacuum & dust. We said no. We cleaned the hell out of the apartment & took photos to cross our Ts. With some of the things in the apartment, they were stained or dirty when we moved there so we just left as is. But the apartment was a chemical-infused, sparkling space where you could eat meals off the floor, balcony included. We texted the property manager for a walk-through 4 days before the move-out date. READ YOUR CONTRACT! We lived in Alterra Apartments in Walnut Creek CA and our building was taken over by this company. Not only did we essentially get forced out of our apartment because they wanted to “renovate” in the middle of a pandemic but we got kicked with a $185 cleaning fee to have the place professionally cleaned. Basically they have built it into their contract that you must leave the apartment as it was given to you (professionally cleaned) so you either have to pay someone to come clean before you leave and give the receipts to management so they won’t charge you to have it cleaned again OR you have to just expect a $185 fee taken from your security deposit.
