Rainey Homes at Daybreak

We built with Rainey Homes and moved in mid-2021. I’ve waited to post this review in hopes that some of our lingering concerns might be addressed, but after several years, I feel it’s time to share our experience. The initial process working with Doug was great—he was professional, responsive, and helpful. Unfortunately, our experience changed once we transitioned to working with the construction superintendent. Communication significantly declined, and it felt like we were brushed off on multiple occasions. Individually, some of the issues might seem minor, but together they added up and left us disappointed. We recently moved into our 2nd home built by Rainey in the last 6 years. Not only do they build with the highest level of quality, but are a very reliable home builder with fantastic communication throughout the building process. When mistakes or concerns arise, they are always addressed in a timely manner. I would highly recommend Rainey Homes.

There are many things that we dearly love about our home. We bought it from the original owner. The floor plan is outstanding and the appearance is very nice. However, as time has gone on, we have found that the workmanship on the home is often quite shoddy. For example, we recently had to replace a French drain that had failed. Not surprising, they do fail after 20 to 30 years. It hasn't been that long for us. The outlet pipe was very, very small... only 2 inches. It was filled with dirt and such. The gravel pit for the drain was filled with gravel (as it was supposed to be), but also filled with garbage, cement bags, and a lot of dirt and coarse sand that was there from the start (according to the workmen that replaced it). Given the drain's location, I believe that completely.

6 month update: I originally posted about Rainey Homes when they first finalized my contract. I was very happy with the entire process at that point. We are now 6 months into our construction, and we are even happier! This was the right choice for us and they keep confirming this feeling every time we deal with them. Doug (Rainey Sales Rep.) & Cortney (Super Intendant) have made this experience stellar. Between constant updates and quick response time to any questions they have made this “anxiety free“ experience. If you are looking at builders in Daybreak, STOP! Go with Rainey, you will love your experience.

We toured Rainey homes during the Salt Lake parade of homes. The home had a great floor plan and lots of beautiful windows for natural light. It had beautiful high quality finishes.
