My dealings with Deena and Ricky at Powelton Properties have been very informative, helpful and comforting. As a mom at home looking to help my daughter and her friends find a home for next year, I reached out to many different property owners and leasing agents. In many cases, my texts, calls and emails went completely unanswered. Deena always responded promptly and has been very patient with all of our questions and requests. Ricky showed them several properties, while fighting freezing temps and snow covered and icy Philly streets. They helped us find a great fit and after my conversations with each of them, I’m confident that it will be a great experience for the girls. I Do NOT recommend living in a property owned by this company. 4520 Springfield Ave specifically is a run down building with a constant flood in the basement near the laundry. A faulty fire alarm system that went off in the middle of the night multiple times in the winter that we had to wait for firefighters to come turn off. Our unit had a leak for the entire year that we had to put in multiple requests for it to be fixed just for it to never be properly fixed & eventually caused black mold and mushrooms to be growing out of our wall. When we sent pictures of the mold/mushrooms in the apartment still nothing was done to fix it. There was no acknowledgment or apology for the living conditions. The definition of a scummy landlord. Rude, manipulative, negligent, and have 0 concern for their tenants. I could go on for hours about how awful they are, but they don’t deserve my energy! Instead look at the photos of mold, leaks, floods, and mushrooms in our apartment that they refused to acknowledge and clearly did not care about as long as they got our rent money. DONT RENT WITH THEM!!!!

NEVER rent from Powelton Properties. They are absolutely horrible. When we moved into our unit there were holes in each of the bedrooms where AC units clearly belong. They LIED TO US, and told us that they had already ordered the units. Since it was Feb at the time, we said okay and moved in. Now it's June, and they're REFUSING to fix the holes in our bedrooms unless we buy the AC Units ourselves. Additionally, the basement where you do laundry has not been cleaned once since we moved in, it's filthy. They also do not upkeep the property. A tree fell last week during the storm and they still haven't moved it or cleared the paths.

I lived in the same property for two years. I only stayed because the location was prime but every experience me and my roommates had with management was horrible. They would walk into our house unannounced. They never hired cleaners between tenants. There was black mold in the showers. Our kitchen amenities broke every few weeks, the garbage disposal rarely worked. They randomly came one day and removed the bars off of the windows on the first floor (mind you windows that didnt shut) and after about 70 phone calls and 30 emails, eight months later, they replaced the bars on the windows. We left the property better than it came, and they deducted off of our security deposit without telling us why.
