This review is long overdue. I lived here for 2–3 years starting in 2022, and overall had a great experience. You really can’t beat this apartment-- close to Duke, reasonably priced, and the units are spacious. The leasing office staff were excellent: experienced, responsive, and efficient. Two things to be aware of. First, the area has some crime issues. Second, the occasional pest problems, which are fairly typical in older NC units during the summer.

Pros: Super responsive maintenance (took 1 day to fix my A/C). Very spacious for the price, great location across the street from Duke. Relatively quiet and safe. Friendly and supportive property management. Cons: Walls are very thin, you can hear your neighbors sneeze. Some units are more renovated than others. Only have street parking.

The management is great, and maintenance is quick, location is fantastic but the apartment itself is disappointing. It's in poor condition, with an old, moldy smell that lingers on everything. The age and mold make it challenging to enjoy living here without the odor sticking to your belongings and yourself. I’ve been here from last year and I can’t wait to move out.

While this may have changed from when I lived there in 2018, thought I'd post this review anyway: The value of property is extremely good for it's size and location right next to Duke, especially close to the business, public policy and law schools. But the house I had did have a roach problem which persisted even after pest control (provided by the management. They provide it once every few months, I forget the exact number of months). Also, since it's an old apartment complex, insulation is a bit lacking for extreme weather, it snowed in Durham when I was there and for ~10 days, even with the heating on full blast, the internal temp in the house hovered between 55-60 F. It's a decent place, just know that there may be roaches in some houses (my friends who also lived in the same complex
