Poplar Level Terrace Apartments

I lived here in a studio for 2 years and the price is very fair. As a teacher, affordable housing was important. The apartment itself is nice for the price. The office staff were always friendly and helpful. My only gripe was the laundry - half the time the machines were broken and would eat my 'money' off the card. Wouldn't say it was out of order until part way into the cycle with my clothes already soaked. So I started doing laundry at a relative's house. But other than that, I enjoyed living here. Only had one noise issue with a neighbor (downstairs) once and it was very promptly dealt with by the office staff - after I spoke to the neighbor directly and had an unpleasant confrontation. As everyone knows, transitions can be stressful and scary. The front office staff at Poplar Terrace Apartments made the move less of a burden by quick responses to all of our many emails and phone calls! I would also like to thank David the maintenance man for his timely fixes that needed attention from our initial inspection. He has returned to the apartment a few times to follow up on maintenance and he is very friendly. He is dedicated to his work, as he worked through a power outage to fix our tub facet!

SEE PICS- AVOID sun res!! I never paid rent late, never had a complaint and they treated me like a problem. They are unresponsive, will not perform maintenance properly, and nickel and dime you at every opportunity!! I have great credit, only paid $100 sec deposit and they try to justify taking all of it. I left their property in good condition and met with them 1/25/24 to ensure so. After confirming the rental was in good condition, I was charged for normal wear and tear, citing "carpet traffic" and holes in the walls they confirmed on move-out were extremely minor and not an offense. Back in August the AC stopped working and because they wouldn't send someone out, I replaced the filter myself (still didnt fix it) It hadn't been changed in YEARS. Do NOT rent here. I have had fees on top of fees. Water has been shut off 3 times since I’ve lived here for 3 months. Rodent infestation I called the health department it and that is the only thing I feel solved it. Plus mold. I moved in with sink and bathtub clogged, towel rack fell of the second I touched it and I got a matainance fee. Office staff is terrible. especially Lucy. Amanda is great.

The carpet shampooing & inspection that was supposed to take place before move in happened as we were moving in. We had to move everything in the kitchen so it wouldn’t get wet. Carpets were soaked for two days & had to borrow a fan from the office. Dumpsters are always full & overflowing, pet prices are insane especially when the carpets need to be replaced anyway, (they fill the vacuum up after two uses with dust from the air ducts that I’m assuming are never cleaned) Our dishwasher was broken for two weeks when we first moved in & broke again months later & wasn’t fixed for 5 weeks. I had to call constantly to get updates. Our fridge went out & we lost almost all of our food. We called emergency maintenance & he said they didn’t have any replacements.
