The below review is for the house owner and property management group for a house rented through Pines Harbor Realty. I rented a property in Fire Island Pines for the summer of 2016. The process became convulted towards the final signing of the lease and they asked me to resign the lease several times, it's still unclear why, although it was "at the request of the owner". Out of all the brokers on the island, Alex and Kris are by far the best to work with for rentals. They're responsive, timely with funds and very professional. Would not work with anyone else for a rental.

This company is a joke and if you use them for vacation rentals, be prepared for the worst. Kris Grae, our agent, is a terrible representation of what a professional real estate agent should be. We used Pines Harbor Realty both times that we rented a house on Fire Island, and both times we had issues. The first time, we rented a small, owner occupied home and the house was nice. However, upon leaving, we requested our $1000 security deposit back and didn't hear anything for almost 10 days. When they did get back to us, it was after someone else had already stayed in the house and we were blamed for tearing the fabric on a chair. They kept the whole deposit, insisting that we did the damage even though no one inspected the home until after the next party had departed. Kris blamed the

Avoid renting through this company if at all possible. Not only are they extremely unprofessional and disorganized, but we also had to wait 7 months and call half a dozen times to have our security deposit returned. Being repeatedly today that it’s “on the way”, which was a lie every time. They would not survive as a business if they did not have a monopoly on the island.
