Paragon bought out my past apartment complex and raised rent $230 the first year and wanted to raise it another $100. In the time they took over as management the grounds were so bad. There was no landscaping, garbage was all over the parking lot, they did nothing to enforce the handicap parking even when they were notified multiple times. They then kept claiming they had mailed the security deposit to me and I finally had to go get it. I still haven’t see it come in the mail. So they did not mail it the second time. It’s a shame because the apartment complex was so nice before they took over.

I cosigned on an apartment, in mid-July 2023, for my adult autistic son at 199 South Allen Street in Albany, where he still resides. Since moving in, his living room ceiling has leaked more than six times, from a defective roof drain/lateral drain system and aging roof. Paragon reduced the February 2024 rent by $600; the only time they have ever offered some time of compensation for this repeated inconvenience. The living room has been primarily uninhabitable due to the frequency of the leaks. Paragon had the roof replaced at the beginning of March 2025. I rented an apartment for the last 2 years managed by Paragon. In my experience, they were awesome. I dealt mostly with Tracey who could not have been more pleasant or helpful. She was always prompt in getting back to me with any questions or concerns. Maintenance staff was also great on the rare occasion I needed help with something. They too were pleasant and prompt. I had a great experience with Paragon!

These people purchase/manage properties, categorize you personally. Discriminate and then kick you out if they don’t like you. Do not rent with them.
