I live in Georgia and was searching for a home in Columbia, South Carolina, so I requested a tour through Zillow. Zillow required me to sign a non-exclusive tour agreement, which I understood was solely to facilitate the showing, not to commit to exclusive representation with any agent. I was paired with Faviola Veloz, and when I arrived at the first home, she handed me paperwork and told me I needed to sign it before continuing the tour. After reviewing the document, I recognized it as a Buyer Agency Agreement, which is a legally binding and exclusive contract. Because I am familiar with real estate, I understood this was a legally binding contract. When I asked what the document was, she described it vaguely as “just something that says we’re working together,” which I felt was mislead
