My husband and I recently celebrated one year in our newly built home in the Elyson community, and I can honestly say choosing Newmark Homes was one of the best decisions we made, after a couple of years of searching for the right builder. Our first home-buying experience with a different builder was unfortunately horrible, so we came into this process very cautious. However, Newmark Homes completely restored our confidence in the home-building process. From start to finish, their professionalism, communication, and commitment to quality truly stood out. We purchased our new build, Newmark Home in November 2025. All inspection issues were addressed/explained. The transaction went smoothly. We love our home. The quality is excellent. We bought a brand new “model home” and recently had an issue with water pouring out of a light in the eat in kitchen area. Our house was built late 2017 - we closed on it November 2018 - and had to pay a roofer to fix some very shotty work. Missing flashing - and a leak that was more than just a vent cover problem. The photos show the rotten wood - this should NOT happen in a few years. The air conditioning ducts weren’t done correctly either, and we had to have those resealed because it started molding - they didn’t seal the air conditioner properly in the attic. These are things as a new construction home owner you should never have to fix! Also for a model home - cheaply made ….. buyers beware. Look for another builder!!! I was in the process of designing a home and decided to stop partnering with Newmark on the following concerns: -The Sales Associate for the Elyson area was new to Newmark homes and continued to provide misinformation over and over again. We had to correct her many times and even got to a point to ask for everything she said in writing to go back and reference. -Our sales associate was not friendly or helpful. At the design center, we met wonderful partners at Newmark but we just felt unlucky with the sales associate assigned to our community. We often had to do all the research ourselves. -We asked for breakdowns of change orders for their inventory homes and we also did the same for Perry Homes and Highland Homes and Newmark is actually almost double pricing everything. Avoid Rhonda Bastine and NewMark Homes at all costs! Our experience with NewMark Homes has been nothing short of a nightmare. At first, Rhonda, our sales representative, was friendly and accommodating—until we signed the paperwork. From that point on, her response to any question or concern was a flat “no.” There was no effort to resolve issues or even listen to us.
