I’ve had multiple frustrating experiences with the leasing office at Prairie Crossing Apartments in Farmers Branch. One of the male staff members has been repeatedly rude and dismissive — both over the phone and in person. During one call, he questioned why I “needed it so bad right now” and said he didn’t understand my “sense of urgency.” After the call I went down to the leaesing office and when I arrived, he was on his personal phone instead of offering help or following up on my issue. Thankfully, Assistant Manager has been professional and helpful in resolving my lease renewal concerns, but the ongoing unprofessional behavior from this staff member makes it difficult to trust the management as a whole. If I could give this company 0 stars I would. If you can find a rental somewhere else I would highly advised that. Stay clear of the Brook at Columbia. This company is filled with liars you will be sorry if you do business with them. I moved out November 1 2025 I still don’t have my security deposit back my move was never processed out I’m still getting billed for utilities at The Brook. This company is refusing to pay my business for over $10,000 of work that we completed nearly four months ago. I have followed up repeatedly with Beatriz Beltran Saul and Fredy Chinchilla at Hamilton Manor and have received nothing but delays and excuses. We fulfilled every part of our agreement — including returning to the property to re-treat a few areas when asked — yet Murn has still not released payment. Last night a family member’s car was towed from the property, despite having registered the vehicle for an overnight stay on prior occasions with no issues, so the towing feels arbitrary and inconsistent. The explanation I was given—that the car was towed because I added state initials before the license plate—conflicts with established practice and suggests a lack of clear policy or guidance. More troubling was the cold, unempathetic treatment from the managers and their assistant, which showed a shocking absence of basic humanity and respect for a resident who has lived here nearly 10 years. My experience with Desire Gordon at Murn Management was extremely upsetting. During my interactions with her, she made specific comments and behaved in ways that I documented and that made me feel I was being treated differently because of my race. Based on these incidents, I left the interaction feeling discriminated against and deeply uncomfortable. Her communication was also rude and dismissive, and I felt my concerns were not taken seriously at all. Combined with the lack of professionalism, the overall experience was unacceptable. I would not recommend working with this representative based on what I personally witnessed and experienced.
