MPL Rentals

I’ve been with MPL rentals for several years now, and they’ve made renting stress-free! Maintenance requests are handled super fast—and the vendors they send are professional and respectful. The online portal for rent and communication is easy to use, and whenever I’ve had a question, someone responds quickly and kindly. Their staff is patient, helpful, polite and never makes you feel like a bother. This team actually cares. 5 stars, no question.

All was fine until they shut our water off. It’s included in the rent for our unit, but we paid our rent on time every single month so we were confused. We tried to call them, they didn’t answer but it was fine because it was late. We didn’t think anything about it, so we put in a service report and they said they fixed it. Long story short it wasn’t fixed and we didn’t have water for 5 days with no reasoning why. We found out they they shut the water off in order to change the water heater, we were never notified (which is illegal), and when we called to say “well we would like you to take those days off our rent since water is included”. They called us and said they’d get back to us, but they never have. They don’t respond unless you threaten a lawyer. They’re extremely unprofessional an

It’s like a cliche how terrible this company is. Building sold, and they took over managing. I’ve never seen anyone from this company on the property since the walk through with the building owner, it’s been a full year. The very first interaction we had was a threat of eviction if we didn’t contact them within so many hours over a weekend. That being said, GOOD LUCK getting in touch with them. They never answer the phone, the hotline they give you is mostly crickets unless they’re contacting you, and they won’t meet with you if you come to the office (precovid) BUT they’ll threaten you with eviction if you’re one day late on rent. We have been threatened in writing by a neighbor with assault and the company has said “we’ve done all we can” by literally doing nothing. This isn’t a company.

The place is advertised as nonsmoking. This is a lie. They let smokers live in the building and I am severely allergic to smoke. Please be aware. A nonsmoking rental is not nonsmoking if smokers live in the building. Smoke gets on your clothes and is brought into the house regardless if they smoke outside or not.
