Mountain View Place

I highly recommend leasing an apartment at Mountain View Place on Moss Mountain Lane. The apartments are almost new, well maintained, and in close proximity to the 5th Street Station and downtown Charlottesville. The owners respond immediately to requests and resolve them quickly. The complex allows for pets, (which is hard to find) so that is another plus. During the January ice storm event, the lot and sidewalks were quickly cleared and salt put down for safety. Furnished apartments are also an option.

We’ve lived here for about two years, and overall, our experience has been good. The repairs are handled promptly, and communication is straightforward. However, there are a few downsides: 1. Location: The apartment is very close to the main street, so traffic noise is constant, even late at night and early in the morning. 2. Lack of Transparency on Rent Increases: We discovered that our monthly rent is higher than our neighbors' even though we’re renting the same model. There was no clear explanation for this. 3. Management: Since this is a pet-friendly community, there are often dog droppings around the complex, and the smell of dog urine can be quite strong in certain areas. 4. Loved living here! We loved the location of the complex, close to downtown to be convenient but far enough away to be out of the hustle and bustle! We really enjoyed working with PMI the property managers and also Jason and Kim the owners, they were very responsive and there if you need help! 10/10 would recommend. If we weren’t buying a house we would have renewed again for a 3rd year! ***Also pretty great that they work with piñata to help boost your credit score while renting and paying on time!

I can’t speak highly enough about this apartment and the owners! Kim has been so easy to work with, kind, hospitable, and quick to respond to any email. Anytime there was a maintenance question, Jason came over the same day or next day and took care of everything quickly. I never had any concerns about the safety or maintenance of the apartment complex and even in the winter, they were so quick to salt and plow/shovel the whole parking lot and sidewalks. The great management of this apartment plus the location and prices made it a really great place to live. It’s also so nice being close to the 5th st shopping center, downtown, and two entrances to 64. Overall it’s been a very peaceful, quiet, and lovely place to live!

Mountain View Place is a wonderful complex in Charlottesville. Close to the Wegmans shopping center and all the best parts of UVa, Charlottesville and the beautiful surrounding areas. Right off of 64 and one exit from 29. High on a ridge between Monticello and downtown, the views are spectacular. The apartments are brand new and well appointed. Hard to find a fault. The management is very professional and proactive. A joy to live in.
