Mountain View Estates

After living in the Mountain View Estates apartments for 6 months they drastically raised my rent $125 dollars. The normal rent for a one bed room being $725 and a Pet monthly fee. Plus this added fee $125. This is ridiculous and no way marketable! They proclaim it to be a high estate apartments; but the main road to the Mountain View Estate is a dirt path. Do not bother to wash your cars frequently. Your vehicles will just keep collecting more dirt. This is merely a review of my experience living at the Mountain View Estates. I was grateful that I had a place over my head that provided for my family. But there way are reasonable apartments/estates that will meet your needs for your family allowing you to conserve and save money. This place didn't.

We lived here for a year. It was nice and quiet, and the apartments look nice. Unfortunately the building I lived in seemed to be be rushed during construction as the walls were cracking already even though it was only built under a year ago. I lived on the second floor with garages right under me. The drywall would crumble a little bit everytime a garage was open and closed, so it was a pain to clean. Plus, it was quite annoying hearing/feeling garages open and close all the time. Like everyone else mentioned, the dirt road was a pain. I dragged so much mud and dirt into my garage just from that road. It really was a pain to clean when I moved out. There was also an issue with a water pipe leaking near our bedroom closet, so everytime it was opened, it smelled like sewage. They came in to

This place was great for the first half of the lease. Management change (now Laurie) midway caused a change in rent prices. Suddenly the whole area became tobacco free and no one was allowed to smoke anywhere. Our apartment was left spotless and they still kept our security deposit and charged us an extra $500.

There are far worse places to live in Wausau, and this is one of the few complexes allowing dogs. Rent has gone up $170/month since we moved in for the exact same unit and no gain in any features or amenities, but seems to have plateaued. Hours have been reduced for the office and we've gone from a full time maintenance staff to one who is only here on Wednesdays. However, the office staff is friendly, the location is quiet, and you do get a nice sized garage.

While a decent apartment, the management here is atrocious. The complexes were sold after we had lived here a few months and the new management has been less than transparent about things. -The office hours render them unreachable to those of us who work business hours -They are not quick to respond to any request, including maintenance for which they only offer a 12 hour notice when they are entering your residence (difficult to schedule around if you wish to be home) - When they did the final raise of the asphalt, we were quoted that we would not have access to our garage for 12 hours, and to park in a different location, it took over 24 hours before we had access again, and no notice from the management about the delay.
