Montclair Apartments

These are the washers in my complex we are REQUIRED to use in building 13407. We’ve sent multiple letters stating they need to be cleaned because who wants to put their clothes in a washer that smells like mildew, has rust everywhere and more than likely mold! We were told they were cleaned and these pictures are just a day after that was said. If we had the money to run just water and soap cycles before we wash our clothes we would, but since you can only use a card given to you that you have to refill with CASH ONLY it doesn’t come easy. This is by far the least taken care of apartment complex I’ve ever lived in it’s disgusting. “The apartments are old” is not an excuse for it to not be cleaned properly and renovated over the years. Please do not rent from here. I have had issue after issue and the leasing office will not do anything to help. They gave me a college dorm fridge after the original broke and refused to change it. The water temperature is extremely inconsistent making showers a very quick task. It always smells like weed from multiple other tenants and I’ve been getting consistently sick since I moved here. I think there is mold somewhere. After these, and many other issues I tried to end my lease and they want a fee of 4 months rent upfront to do so, leaving me stuck until it is over. I regret moving here so please save yourself while you can.

Very poorly taken care of. Maintenance never responds to work orders, we’d say we have at least 10+ work orders in and absolutely no response to them at all. Apartment was not clean prior to move in at all. I’ve stayed in motel 6’s before that are better taken care of than this building. Kitchen is weird with no garbage disposable and non functional dishwashers. It is nice that at the sister complex that their is a pool. Just would be nice if it was ever open or even a notice of when it’s going to be closed. If you are looking for a cheap place to live and don’t care about nothing working then this is your place to live. Would not recommend

0/5 Oh boy where do I begin with how horrible this complex is. Unit was filthy upon move in. Many things were broken. Took about 6 months for us to get a working dishwasher. Bathroom is deplorable wouldn’t be surprised if there was mold growing between the broken tile in the shower. The 1 out of 2 of the washer and dryers they have for 30th residents have been broken for months. Someone must have been evicted recently because maintenance (they do exist surprisingly) was seen chucking all of the left furniture out of the third floor balcony and destroying the mud (it’s not grass and hasn’t had grass in years) even more. I do not recommend living here under any circumstances.

i absolutely loved living here 2022-2023 ! my main reason for moving was no in unit washer and dryers and the mold + high price of the shared community ones on top of there only being 1 working a lot of the time :/ it was also frustrating when majority of the time (especially in winter) i had to walk around the whole building due to the lock on one door being broken all the time and the first floor patios are in a well in the ground where the doors can only lock and unlock from inside the apartment . it would have been nice to have it level with the ground + outdoor locks for easy access in and out . this also caused my apartment to flood one time and brought in tons of roly-polys but maintenance was quick to come clean my drain , extract water from the carpet , and shampoo it afterwards .
