Mid American Credit Union

I really hate it that they do not have a way to deposit cash after hours. This is been a problem for me several times. After banking with them for a year and a half two years managing my accounts very well I applied for a car loan and was denied was easily granted a loan from another credit union, so I will be moving my business there. Not thrilled that my check went in my account today and online banking is down. That’s kind of a pain in the butt to.

This place is really pretentious. You need to have an appointment and pay a $15 fee in order to open an account. I'm not going to beg a credit union to hold my money. I recommend going to credit union of America. The staff is much more friendly and THEY give YOU $25 for opening an account with them. Also, this branch is closed on Saturday. I'm really not sure how they help their members.

Now that I'm in Wichita from KC it's so nice to be able to have a co-op shared branch available. The staff are always very friendly. When you walk in they have a covid check as well. The building is super clean and well kept along with good landscaping. The building has really nice photography of Wichita as well! Last time I went in I just got out of school at WSU and brought my backpack in because I have an old pickup with no locks. I felt so bad for the poor screening lady who was shaking in her boots while she asked me what was in the bag - poor girl! Regardless of me bringing it in they still treated me very kindly and didn't make me even think about it until after I had left. A+, gang.

Will be closing my account. Went in to open a savings account and the teller at the desk asks for my id. I didn’t think anything of it at 1st as I figured she was going to help me. However, she didn’t help and another person helped with opening my account so I was clearly profiled. Then, when I ask to deposit government checks that list myself and my son on the checks as I’m his payee since he’s disabled, I’m told that I need proof from social security naming me as the payee although it’s printed clear as day on the checks AND I had a letter from SSI that I presented that day that wasn’t good enough. To add more insult to injury, after leaving, I went and cashed the checks at Walmart, was assessed $4 fees for $53 checks but the point is they refused services to a potential customer at that
