Just coming here to share my experience as I see many others have similar stories. IDK just be smart and take this as a warning. Likewise, me and my two roommates all had a delay in getting our security deposits, it was only after countless emails, text messages, and phone calls, as well as the PA Attorney generals office reaching out for comment, all this from August 2023 - March of 2024 we spent trying to get our deposit back. Mind you the state of PA requires security deposit, or a written notice of a lack thereof, needs to be paid thirty days maximum after the lease ends. This was 7 months (>210 days lol). Never took them to court, though perhaps we should have. Can confirm that Karen, his secretary(?) is just as insufferable and negligent. Choose wisely!

Everything written about them being a scam is true. If you plan to rent from them be aware that you will not get your security deposit back. My roommates and I moved out end of July 2024 (When the lease ended). Now it’s February 2024 and still nothing regarding our security deposit. We have contacted them via phone, email, and text but nothing. If you are currently leasing from them, maybe figure out a way to ensure you get your security deposit back. Herb and Karen are scammers. Rent from a different leasing office. Started the law suite process.

Dirty dishonest business. Maze Development Group makes money off exploiting college students thinking they won't notice nor care their security deposit is missing. We all moved out in July 2023. It's now January 2024. None of the renters from the past year have gotten their security deposits back, let alone a response when emailed, called, or even showed up to the office in person. They have 5+ court cases filed against them, all of which they fail to show up to; if you have this same issue I highly recommend you take them to court as well. I won't even mention the issues I had while renting, but I can guarantee they won't care about you or your living state once you move into the apartment and sign a lease. You really have to be low to run a business like this!

If I could give 0 stars I would. My daughter rented from them last school year. They met all the obligations of the lease agreement however, when it was time for them to get their security deposit back, Herbert Reid III vanished. He didn't return phone calls, no one in the Maze Group office (when you called the office, Karen Fisher was of no value, never had an answer for anything, kept giving a lame story of the deposit being processed, but knew good and well that was not the truth). My daughters lease ended in August 2023, it is now January 2024 and we have not heard back from anyone there, even after repeated phone calls. They are the worst rental company, doesn't deserve any stars. My daughter rented an apartment along with four other university students in August 2022. The house was handed over to them in a filthy condition with dirty carpets. Even a regular cleaning was not done before move-in. Students faced a hard time for fix of minor issues throughout the year and finally ended the lease in August 2023. They met all the obligations of vacating the property but unfortunately have not received their security deposit till date. No one picks up the phone at the given company number and never returns to the messages left. My daughter has sent several emails to the manager but no response received. It is now more than six months but unfortunately none of the occupants received their security deposit back.
