Do not rent from here at all costs. Within a week of moving in my apartment experienced water damage. This was dealt with quickly but the repairs have not been made. The wall is still exposed after removing the damaged material. I moved in in September. Today is December 19th. There are numerous other maintenance requests that have gone unanswered. However, today I stumbled into a new fresh hell as I discovered an overturned roach on the floor of my main living room area. I am absolutely disgusted. Never in my life have I lived in a place like this. It feels even worse knowing that nothing is likely to be done about this and I will have to force management's hand with calling the city inspectional services department. DO NOT RENT FROM HERE. I had the displeasure of renting a Marston Beacon Hill unit for 2 years. In that time, every possible negative consequence of having a shitty landlord arose. In my time I had to call code enforcement multiple times. The first time was when I discovered that my unit and the neighboring unit were illegally cross-metered and we were both individually being billed for our combined electricity use. Absolutely no response or effort from Marston until I sicced code enforcement and made a complaint. The second time was when a corner wall and ceiling of my unit sprung a major rain based leak. Nothing was done for NINE MONTHS to fix the constant leak, mildew, and dissolving wall that slowly spread to take over my living room. These two major complaints are in addition to a litany of other issues.

I found Eliot Levine to be a nightmare to work with. He was dishonest and rude. I was shown an apartment and when I returned with a check ready to lease, he told me a doctor had already signed an application and he "couldn't see how it wont be approved". He then rushed me into leasing a less desirable 5th floor walk up which was extremely expensive to heat (although he had reassured me that the prior tenants "never even turned on the heat"). Two weeks after I moved in, I noticed the apartment I was told had been "rented by a doctor" was posted online available for rent. He also couldn't have been bothered when I needed the keys two days prior my move. It took him over 24 hours to return my call. Marston Beacon is the management company for my condo. Every interaction I have had with them the past 2 years since moving in has been exceptionally poor. I'm actually shocked they are still in business. They are completely unresonsive through every method of communication: Their phone directs you to an email address which never leads to a response. I regularly have to follow up at least 2-3 times on an email before I get a response. Look anywhere else for a management company.

I was a tenant in a Marston managed unit, not a building the manage entirely, so I can't speak to the management or RE sales folks, just my experience as a tenant since 2017. Deceptive in the apartment leasing process: 1) Said the tenant we were taking over for part way through the lease would cover the agent fee - wasn't true. 2) Leasing agent documented in writing that the unit came with a basement storage unit - was crossed out by the broker when I received the final copy in return. Unresponsive when I raised this issue afterwards. Totally fine during most of my tenancy. Would generally respond the maintenance or issue requests in a timely manner, but they put on the non-responsive hat as soon as I let them know were would not be renewing for another year.
