This is the absolute worst place I have ever lived due to management. They don’t seem to care about their residents in the slightest. I’ve been dealing with a safety concern due to other residents for months and they are unresponsive. I’ve had to call 911 on other residents because they are fighting and threatening to shoot & stab people. Management said they can’t tell me anything about how they’re handling it because of privacy concerns… I’m sorry but I don’t really care about their privacy when I had a man 6 ft outside my window threatening to shoot everyone. I don’t think Brittany would want to live in those conditions either. It takes weeks to get a response, if you ever get one. One time there was a lady who was screaming outside for an extended period of time and then she pulled h

Nervous to post publicly for fear of retaliation. Recently we went 2.5 weeks without a working shower . It’s a basic right of a tenant to have working plumbing. I am patient and understanding but .. The photos are current- of the ceiling and walls that were opened for maintenance on pipes . In January. Wondering why the Ann Arbor Inspectors were concerned but no change … $

Old, old building and too expensive for what it offers. Electrical issues, power kept going out and fuses going out but has OLD fuse bulbs instead of switches. unsafe power outlets. Plumbing issues, bathroom sinks don’t drain easily. Upstairs apartment had a water leak onto my ceiling, maintenance cut a hole in the ceiling to fix and left it like that until my lease ended — which allowed a moldy, musty smell and bugs in the apartment. No central air or dishwasher. Was ~$4 to complete one load of laundry in the basement IF it wasn’t broken or leaking, or if the sinks weren’t clogged and overflowing onto the floor. Painting everywhere including over mold, water damage, doors and hinges instead of replacing. Painted bath tubs to cover old tubs instead of replacing or cleaning, which chips awa

DO NOT LIVE HERE**There is one washing machine+1 dryer per building which is shared with 10 other apartments. They are broken every other week, washing machines stop working mid-cycle and all the dirty water gets stuck which creates a horrible smell and makes you wonder how safe it is to wash your clothes in that. Laundry room has never been cleaned nor sanitized. There is even an old stove full of dirt in the room. They refuse to do anything about it. (Attaching picture) I've had to take my laundry to a laundromat which I don't think is acceptable when you pay $1300 a month to live here. Office rarely give you any solutions other than my manager will call to never hear back from them again/ Awful, doomsday environment for residents. Everything is made out of the cheapest materials and ha

TL;DR: Manchester Flats offers cute, affordable, and well-located apartments, but McKinley’s management enforces questionable policies—especially a problematic bed bug lease addendum—and exhibits harassing behavior that may violate state law. Proceed with caution and read the lease carefully. Manchester Flats apartments have a lot going for them: they’re on the bus line, close to downtown, and relatively affordable for Ann Arbor—especially for those on PhD stipends or a tight budget. The hardwood floors and abundant sunlight are definite pluses. The buildings are old and have minor maintenance issues, but nothing major. The real downside is McKinley’s management. In 2025, they introduced a Bed Bug Lease Addendum with two alarming clauses: 1. They could evict tenants within seven days if
