We initially had high hopes for our home-buying process with Loan Depot–especially using our trusted friend/mortgage lender whom we had nothing but good experiences with during our first home mortgage. The beginning stages were smooth—the website made it clear which documents were needed, and the process seemed streamlined for submitting pre-approval and making timely, meaningful offers on houses. Unfortunately, things went downhill quickly once our offer was accepted and we signed the purchase and sale agreement. Our closing date was set for 1 month after the offer was accepted, a tight but realistic timeline, we were told.
