Gorgeous floor plans in a secured building! FREE PARKING! Linkwood apartments! Located in the Tuscany-Canterbury neighborhood of North Baltimore, conveniently within walking distance to Loyola College and Johns Hopkins Homewood Campus!
I would not recommend this place to people. While it may look nice on the surface, it has a lot of sub-surface problems that become apparent after moving in. First, the property manager who sold me this place is named Robert Fredericks and he was extremely supportive to me when I signed the lease and prior to move-in. However, since move-in he has basically ghosted me, leaving me to deal with many issues listed below on my own. 1. Cockroaches and mice. Just last night, sitting at the table, and a mice scurried out from a hiding place and into the kitchen. We have tried numerous things to get rid of the cockroaches including spray and bait; and have so far received no help from the management team. Also very hard to get professional pest control because it's an apartment, which means it's
Now managed by Chasen companies, which is notorious for purchasing affordable apartments, "renovating" its appearance, calling it "luxurious", and outrageously raising the rent. Like some other reviews mentioned, this place doesn't worth $2000+/mo for a two-bedroom unit. Applying modern-ish interior design to a century-old apartment building doesn't make it "luxurious". It's a scam. Don't consider living here, or any other apartments managed by Chasen, unless management is handed over to a more reputable company.
I've lived here for more than a year now, and it is the best apartment I've ever had. The building is ~50 years old, but it has central AC, and there is free parking. The rent is one of the lowest in the area. Tenants are mostly graduate students and Hopkins researchers with families, so it is quiet. A creek and a trail runs in front of the complex, and this is a favorite place for me to go running. The management is OK, and maintenance has so far been swift (I've had to call them only twice). No pests so far. One complaint I've heard about this place is that walls are very thin. This has not been a big problem for me; I only have one neighbor with whom I share a wall (ceiling). I can hear them walk or move furniture, but that's not been a huge issue for me.
Nice quiet place to live. Assisgned parking. You can get 1 guest tag for your visitors. Cons: no elevator and the floors are not very insilated. If you live in bottom or mid level apartments, you can hear the people who live above you walking around. Most of the people who live here are older that take care of watch over grandchildren, as well as students who go to John's Hopkins University.
