Laurel Realty and Investment

We've been very pleased with our place from Laurel Realty over the past couple years. Brendan is our point of contact and is always very quick to help us fix anything. For example, we had some issues with our dishwasher and oven when first moving in, and both were replaced with new appliances within a day or two. Have never had a hassle with Brendan, and he always responds and quickly has a professional to come visit us and address any maintenance repairs ASAP. Unit was clean and the renting process was easy, the lease is standard.

Moved into a studio apartment in Hayes Valley run by this management company. They were extremely responsive to any issues I had, every time something broke it was fixed within a couple of days, every time I had a question it was answered within 24 hours. The rent was reasonable and in 3 1/2 years they never raised it. That's pretty rare in San Francisco! I would highly recommend renting a property run by this company.

Unfortunately I've had a very bad experience with Jeff at Laurel Realty. I have the misfortune of living next to a home that is a rental they manage, and the tenants in the home are harassing me. Jeff has not only refused to do anything but laughed at me on the phone when we discussed it. He claims to have sent the tenants a letter warning them to discontinue harassing me. I asked for a copy of the letter and he said he would send it to me, but I've now followed up three times and he has not sent it. I don't have any confidence at this point that he's done anything at all. I asked to speak directly to my neighbor, the building's owner, but he has not put me in touch.

3/5 stars for being inconsistently responsive to emails but nice unit Like other reviewers have said, Brendan from Laurel Realty was very responsive until our lease was signed and has since then Laurel Realty has been quite inconsistent in their responsiveness to multiple emails. Luckily, we have a nice unit and have had no more than very minor concerns about the unit but we have To date, we have never met or talked to our landlord of 1.5 years.

FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THAT IS HOLY DO NOT LIVE ANYWHERE UNDER THIS MANAGEMENT. 1. Jeff, the landlord, is notoriously unreliable and just ignores all communication. He says to call him in order to receive a response, but that is only to clear them of any written proof you've contacted their office. Emails, texts, and often calls go unanswered for days. 2. The company agreed to a rent negotiation due to COVID-19 and the plummeting market rents. We sent our negotiation letter, requested by Jeff himself, but were forced to give notice when Jeff didn't respond for two weeks after the letter. The day we gave notice, Jeff called to negotiate but at that point we were done. 3. After moving out, the management company broke several California laws: a.
