EDIT Just learned the insurance company didn't get their check either. I was on the buy side for a closing on Oct 30 where the seller used Land Title to close the deal. In my years of real estate, I have never had issues with payments from title not getting where they were supposed to go until now. In my opinion, that’s a HUGE part of title’s job, and mistakes with dollar amounts or money are just unacceptable. In addition to my lender needing to chase down her compensation check, here’s what happened after closing: ~ There was a $200 line item for an appraisal re-inspection that needed to be paid to the appraisal company. "Appraisal Fee - Final Inspection to ASCEND APPRAISAL SOLUTIONS GROUP" ~ The closer chose to send this $200 to Keystone Funding (the lender) and she chose to label th
