Lakewood Trails by D.R. Horton

My fiancé and I just moved into the neighborhood in May 2022. We worked with Justin Williams who is the Community Sales Manager. Justin was professional throughout the entire process and also made us feel like family - he was extremely helpful in answering any and all questions we had from start to finish. The neighborhood seems extremely quiet and peaceful. There is a soccer field, baseball field, small park for the kids, decent size community pool and a very good sized stocked fishing pond. There is plenty of green space as well which is a huge plus. Aside from that, everything has been an absolute disaster and I wouldn't recommend anyone purchase a home in this community or from DR Horton. We purchased a home in the Lakewood Trails and moved in July 2020. It is a wonderful place and so far we are having a good time. Pros: -- Great walking trail next to the Lake -- Adequate space to play next to the Lake -- Good looking Lake but need to be maintained. -- Country Side living where you can see ducks and cows -- Well made homes -- Very Beautiful Sunset Cons: -- Offsite management company, slow to respond, doesn't provide reports on what it is doing and no financial report. Typical HOA. -- Expensive maintenance fee, when compared to my previous home in Houston, where I had many more Amenities. -- Many outsiders using the lake for fishing and as a picnic spot. The property is private for residents but there is no way to control outsiders from using it and Management company do

Dear HOA Board & DR Horton , We absolutely have a serious problem here that needs immediate attention. We choose to community because of the great reviews . Our kids should feel protected here at all times . Allowing outside people to harassed our kids in a community pool their parents pay for is unacceptable. If you all have access to gate logs, then it should be easy to verify who accessed the pool right before my children did. My husband and I personally spoke with the individual via FaceTime after he confronted our children. During the call, he quickly put on his sunglasses, clearly an attempt to hide his appearance. Very pleased with the customer service given for our first time build experience. Any questions or concerns were very well explained and handled promptly. Justin and Matt were awesome in every way. We are in love with the area - beautiful sunsets and peaceful all around.
