HouseMaster Home Inspections

On October 6th 2025 ,I payed to have a home inspection conduct for a Veteran Administration home loan . After closing the 14th of November 2025. I had to hire a Certificate and Licensed Electrician to my property to rewire my panel box that was tripping a couple breakers. That should have been caught on the inspection. Also A brand new 1st floor bathroom had a major issue with the shower pan , it's was not dripping it raining in the basement. That should have been caught on the inspection. I had to hire a Certificate Plumber to rectify and repair the shower pan leak . I attempt to call the company to rectify the following issue and was unsuccessful. As a disabled Veteran I personally feel that I am entitled to a refund. The two issue have cost me more than the inspection fee.

Initial thoughts were pretty high, but after moving in and crawling under the house myself major rot was discovered in the floor joists and sill. It took all of two minutes for me to find this rot. It looks like both bug damage on the sill and just dry rotted joist. I am not a professional and have no to limited experience with things like this, but it was blatantly obvious there was rot under there after going under myself. This will be a MAJOR repair costing thousands of dollars. Shame on me for sure, but shame on the “professionals” for not catching this as I paid for a wood destroying insect inspection, and inspector went under the house during the inspection.

Kevin performed multiple inspections for our new home and he was absolutely fantastic. He explained everything that he was doing extremely well and in a way that made it easy to understand. He provided us with recommendations on how to handle certain issues and even provided us with the contact information for a handy man that could help us with smaller jobs that contractors normally won’t take on. Above all else, Kevin was friendly and a pleasure to work with. I have had inspections done at other properties and this is the first time I left really feeling like I had an inspector that not only cared about completing the job and “checking the boxes”, but actually wanted to make sure that I was completely comfortable with everything that was done. Housemaster was phenomenal. From the initial scheduling to the final report. The gentleman assigned to assist us was named Tony. He was extremely thorough and answered all of our many questions. The final product was exceeded my expectations. The report was comprehensive and supported by photographs Tony took. I would strongly recommend this company when selecting a home inspection service. The entire team was great. Addendum: We have now lived in our new home for 3 months. Since moving in we have had several basement leaks and two roof leaks. These were both inspected by housemaster. Both leaks were accompanied by mold and changes suggesting that they have been there for a while per expert opinion. I believe our inspector meant well and did the best he could. He just didn't have
