4/17/25 Edit Things are better and it's a pretty chill place to be. It's not cheap and doesn't have amenities, but still the location is great and management has been better lately. 10/21/22 EDIT I've lived here for nearly 4 years now, and I am changing my review to 2 stars because of the management company (C&R). The apartment building is perfectly fine, but how it's managed very much affects the lives of the residents. The secure garage that residents pay $150/month for has been broken now for 2 months, with the door stuck open. The management company (C&R) refuses to compensate the residents for this, claiming that residents don't pay for a secure space, only a reserved space in the garage. I've spoken to all the residents in the parking lot and every single one of them assures m

I lived here for over 2 years until I chose to leave after the property management refused to address any problems with security. I had my electric bike stolen from a locked room inside parking garage. Then the garage door broke and the all of a sudden multiple tenets have had their windows smashed and property stolen on multiple occasions. When I brought up that I don’t wanna pay $150 for a parking spot I was told tough luck. The charge is for the reserved spot and not anything to do with security. It’s basically an invitation for criminals to terrorize the tenants of Homeroom apartment. I would suggest looking elsewhere if you were considering moving here.

I want to love it here but THE BREAK INS! The garage door was broken open for 3 months, someone stole ALL the keys to the apartment building (??), my apartment had an attempted break in, and I just had my bike stolen from a closet on my floor. They really need to fix security here, I’m starting to not feel safe and will have to move when my lease is up if this continues. They don’t even have security cameras on every floor after all these issues with security. This is not the leasing agents fault, it is CR property management who does not care about our safety!! GET SECURITY CAMERAS ON EVERY FLOOR. HIRE A SECURITY GUY. GIVE US HIGHER QUALITY LOCKS. Do something.

Our stay was only for a year and I left with a very mixed feeling. Pro: Clean building. The manager keeps fresh flowers and decorates with cute stuff around the lobby. Dog friendly, so you get to see lots of furbabies! Very close to lots of places, so never a dull moment. Appliances are new and having the W/D in unit is amazing. Very responsive to your requests- manager is nice and he responds quickly. Con: You will not be able to sleep in nor go to bed early. Constant screaming from the homeless people outside, night and day. One night, a random guy came, started to sing loudly at 3am... We had to call a police to send him home after listening for an hr. The weekend nights(Fri, Sat) are always filled with drunk people right out of your window. Somehow you can literally hear EVERYTHING t

Living at Homeroom has been a treat in most ways. Unfortunately, the rent is increasing and the space feels too small for us. But while we've lived here, we enjoyed the upsides of beautiful Buckman, as well as the in-unit laundry and high quality of our apartment. Our one-bedroom has an actual door, unlike those open, fake "one-beds" that other companies offer. Keep in mind that limited parking, street noise, and nearby bars impact the experience of living here.
