Hilliard Road Apartments

I had a scheduled appointment today at 11:30am. When I arrived there was a sign on the door saying there were closed. I called their office but no one answered and I was unable to leave a voicemail because their voicemailbox was full. I stood and waited and now I'm in my car @11:48am writing this review. I drove around the property and there was trash and debris on the ground including random old furniture, pot holes throughout and what looked to be maintenance staff standing around with no shirt on, pants sagging and smoking. I'll take this as my sign to avoid this place. Very disappointed in this first impression.

Updating my review. We just renewed our lease and are regretting it. Leasing office doesn’t respond to emails, neighbors are petty and let their big dogs poop right in front of your porch and don’t pick it up, towing cars for parking to unload groceries even if you aren’t parked long and there isn’t signage. We used to love it here… but after this, I’m not sure what to do. Updated 6/6/25; we have had more than 6 water leaks since moving here in March of 2024. When asked how much it was to terminate our lease as we can’t enjoy our home we were told almost $2500 plus two additional months of rent. Absolutely insane. Neighbors drive through the grass because they’re too lazy to carry groceries to their door. They have to regard for people walking their dogs or anything

These people in the office never answer the phones. You have an emergency and they don't respond. The office and maintenance service is terrible. I called more than 10 times and they don't answer. It's not possible that they can't answer.

I’ve been living here for two years now, this year my husband and I transferred into a 2bd apt because I’m pregnant; since we moved in we have had a lot of issues, they moved us into an apartment that was not fully renovated which is so unfair for the amount of money we pay! We didn’t have heater in this apartment the first two months we were living here because they were unaware the last tenants had the gas meter removed back in 2013? How do you not realize that in 11 years? and thanks to the guy from Dominion Energy who came in to install the gas meter (we personally had to pay for and had to call so many places to get it installed) we found out that the HH combustion chamber was unsafe to use!!!. Wildest application process for an apartment in my life. The admissions employee told us we would be conditionally approved within 24 hours so we could give notice to our current residence. Well, she went on vacation and we got the run around for over a week. We were hung up on multiple times. Told we would get a call back multiple times. Now 10 days into July they are wondering why we haven’t put our notice in. They also wanted to know the landlord of our childhood homes to verify our residence? Waste of an application fee and horrible communication on their end.
