Highlander Apartments

My mom and I have lived here for 12 years and it was pretty decent at first. The old management was kind and on top of things. But over the years it’s gotten worse and worse. We no longer have access to washers and dryers. USPS no longer delivers here, so you have to either go to Pasco to pick up packages or pay for a UPS box. Rent goes up, quality of service goes down. Things keep falling apart because this place is from the 70’s and hasn’t been updated. The electric sucks. The water heater exploded and they were lackadaisical about dealing with it. We now have mold in the bedroom. They didn’t update the emergency Maintanance number to their website or outgoing message, so that’s negligence. Place is dirty, has cockroaches and stains on walls. Whoever painted left hair in paint so dried hair on walls. Upstairs neighbors were extremely loud and jumped constantly. No matter how many complaints nothing changed. Parking is horrible and spots are uneven.

I've lived here several months now and have had all positive experience. The maintenance and yard work is well-kept. A paper notice on every door is provided days before any work being done. My kids enjoy the playground and the pool. The office lady Anna is very nice and allows tenants to rent DVDs for free. My neighbors are quiet in my building and I like that there's an entrance/exit in the front and rear of the complex. I would recommend these apartments and look forward to renewing my lease next year.

Signed a two year lease agreement with them. Worse decision ever. Once the two years were up I could finally leave. First of all they take forever to come fix whatever needs to be fixed and to top it off they dont even fix it. When someone new moved upstairs my apartment got infested with roaches. I told them they came sprayed with their doesn't do anything liquid three times didn't help. Then they start to fine you for everything they can you park on your own spot and if your tire is touching any of the lines boom fine right there.If you have a flat tire or expire tabs your car gets towed even if you are parked in your own parking spot a fine right there.One time late with rent fine. I’ve been renting here for almost a year now and have had a wonderful experience with management. The maintenance men are absolute sweethearts and all the employees actually care to get to know you some! Just an all around better experience here in comparison to the apartment I rented in the past.
