They don’t take care of the walkways or lots in the winter. I fell on the icy stairs while holding the railing and broke my phone. They refused to pay for the replacement. They don’t care about their tenants safety & security, only about their tenants money. They made that abundantly clear. The snow and ice started on a Friday night. I fell two days later, at 5:30am on Sunday. They didn’t have anyone show up until 4:30 that night. They didn’t clear it and the lot way extremely rough and ice/snow covered afterwards with the next storm just compounding it because they never fully cleared it. I assumed it was their responsibility to maintain the walkways and lots because that’s what it says in the lease but they failed to do so and it cost me $500 for the deductible on my phone. When I e

To start out positive, I had lived here for 4 years and loved the apartment itself but unfortunately that’s it. The company who owns these apartments do not communicate so if move here expect that. They don’t answer calls, it’s forwarded to an automatic voice message saying they will call you back. They have AI answering emails so that can be frustrating when it’s something urgent. The office is open when they want to be and make up their own hours so if you work, you probably won’t ever go inside and talk to their cardboard cut out. Unfortunately the guy working up there can’t do anything to solve problems. All his responses have “fair housing” in them. The emergency maintenance number only works after 5 pm even if the office is closed that day. We had someone refuse to help us at 4:45 pm

I am a long-term tenant here, and the decline under current management is disgraceful and clear as day. Living at High Pointe Apartments is a nightmare. This management can’t even handle the bare minimum, like replacing air filters, which is a basic habitable requirement in Iowa. When we moved in, the unit was disgusting—the bathtub was coated in grime and so badly clogged it wouldn't drain. We also had a leaking sink that caused visible damage to the cabinet; it took weeks before we threatened to hire our own repair team and bill the complex before they finally showed up. They have zero respect for privacy. They’ve barged into my apartment without notice, and almost lost my cat by letting them outside. Then gave the pathetic excuse that they 'posted signs' but they 'must have blown away.'

Ive been here 3 years now. If you do rent here be aware of the leasing terms and the 60 day notice to end lease. s Some people dont hear back in time so probably make it 90 days in advance. Since living here they've had to replace the water heater, microwave, washer twice (finally got a new one), dryer twice, smoke detectors that weren't up to code, main kitchen lights, bathroom tub drain and other more minor repairs. My neighbor has a new air conditioner and water heater and a 3rd neighbor had their water heater replaced also. In other words, nothing gets replaced until it stops working completely or is leaking water into your apartment. Now Im hesitant to move into a 2b/2br because Ive seen how much work my place has needed since we've been here. And I have a gas fireplace which not all

Management is unprofessional and disorganized. They repeatedly ignored emails and calls, sent inconsistent information, and even addressed correspondence to my three-year-old son. At one point, they accused me of “harassment” simply for asking for a clear written answer to a lease question. They also attempted to amend my lease halfway through the term, demanding new requirements that were never part of the signed agreement. It’s been exhausting dealing with a company that refuses to communicate clearly or honor the contract they wrote. If you expect professionalism, accountability, or basic respect as a resident, look elsewhere.
