Hideaway Apartments

Long Read but Worth It: I held off on writing this review to see how things would progress, but at this point I don’t see a quick resolution. Here is our experience so far. My husband and I moved into Hideaway Ann Arbor a few days before Christmas 2025, and that is when the major plumbing issues began. The toilet on our main floor exploded. We contacted the emergency maintenance line and, to Trowbridge’s credit, a plumbing contractor arrived within the hour. After snaking the lines, they couldn’t identify the issue. We were told they needed different equipment and would return, but because of the holiday it could take several days. It was only then that we learned we could not use any of the plumbing. No showers, no washing dishes, no laundry, and yes — no use of the bathroom. It ended

Future renters, please be aware: communication and organization here have been ongoing issues. We were not informed that our unit hadn’t passed inspection, which delayed our move-in and caused a lot of last-minute uncertainty. More recently, the only access road to the complex was fully blocked due to construction with no little to no notice, leaving residents without a clear way in or out — even for emergency vehicles. These experiences raise real concerns about planning, transparency, and tenant safety. Rent prices might suggest a premium experience, but what you get is chaos and neglect. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. Management is responsive, and takes care of what’s needed. Beautiful area, well kept on landscape and feels like there aren’t any other tenants. We don’t hear each other and it’s almost as if nobodies there. Be sure to apply to be here.

After touring this property, I couldn’t imagine renting anywhere else in Ann Arbor. These brand new units are amazing with fantastic views. All the office staff were very responsive and helpful.
